Pasta with Basil Pesto

An easy weeknight dinner with a deliciously nutty and herbaceous basil pesto made beforehand or while the pasta is cooking.

 

For the Pesto:


1 recipe Basil Pesto



For the Pasta:


1 pound of dried pasta

1/2 cup of reserved starchy water from cooking pasta

grated parmesan cheese for topping

salt and pepper to taste

 

Technique:


Cook pasta according to instructions on package. Reserve 1/2 cup of cooking water.


Drain pasta and place into a serving bowl. Add 1/2 cup of cooking water and 1/2 cup of pesto. Mix until pasta is well coated and season to taste with salt and pepper.


Sprinkle on grated parmesan cheese and serve.
