Maple and Bacon Glazed Brussel Sprouts

I know not everyone enjoys cabbage as I do, but add maple syrup and bacon to anything and it's delicious! This is a really great sweet and savory vegetable dish that is interesting and tasty. Bacon can easily be removed for a completely vegetarian version.

For the Brussel Sprouts: (serves 4-6)

2 pounds brussel sprouts trimmed and quartered

5 strips bacon

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoon maple syrup

Technique:

Cook bacon as directed on package and dry off extra grease with a paper towel. Chop bacon strips into bite size pieces. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees, line rimmed baking sheet pan.

Toss brussel sprouts on sheet pan with olive oil, garlic powder, ground mustard powder, salt, and pepper.

Bake 18 minutes, tossing halfway through.

Add chopped bacon to sheet pan, drizzle on maple syrup and toss while warm.

Serve warm.
